Sportsman's Ministry

History of Sportsman's Ministry

In 2010 we began this ministry with an event called Sportsman's Holiday.  As many as 600 came to eat wild game and see military equipment and demonstrations.  With about 40 exhibits around the walls of the National Guard Armory in Rocky Mount we served free food and vendors gave away samples and brochures.  The grand prize drawing was for a shot gun but there were many smaller prizes given away leading up to the finale.  The gospel message was presented by an avid hunter.

In 2011 we made preparation for a second Sportsmen's Day but Hurricane Irene had different plans.  All of the pork BBQ prepared was taken to the shelter at Englewood Baptist Church to feed those displaced by Irene.  We prayed with many there and shared the love of Jesus.
